Appearance
One of the things that makes Kuja such a unique character is his flamboyant exterior. Though I'll go a bit in depth describing his outfit and what he looks like, I'm going to spend most of my time in this section explaining what his exterior reveals in terms of his interior.

Kuja is undeniably feminine looking. I know that a lot of people have mistaken him for a girl -- with his long hair, feminine features, and fascination with the color purple, it's easy to see why people would make this mistake. On top of that, Kuja has a very feminine build (his hips are wider than the average male's). At any rate, Kuja has long, layered purple hair with a feather sticking out of it. Accenting his beauty is a series of makeup -- red eye shadow, eyeliner, and a neutral colored lipstick. He wears an interesting outfit -- almost like a mix of a dress and a suit of armor. Over his chest he wears an article of clothing that resembles a purple football shoulder pad with gold lining. Extending out from this shoulder pad looking thing are white sleeves that have a sort of bell shape to them. As for pants, he has none. He wears a purple thing that resembles a jock strap with a skirt extending out the back side. To compensate for his lack of pants, he wears extremely high boots (they extend all the way up to his thighs).
Wow, talk about weird. How many guys do you know who wear eye shadow and walk around in shoulder pads and jock straps? But it does reveal a lot about who Kuja is. The way that he dresses shows that he doesn't care what others think of him, yet at the same time it shows that he is a narcissist. If Kuja cared what others think, he would never dress in such a feminine manner -- it's the kind of thing other guys would probably make fun of, and the fact that he does it means that he'll take any criticism and merely laugh it off. It further shows that he's a narcissist because in order to wear such clothes, you have to have a whole lot of confidence and you must think that you're amazingly attractive. I doubt many girls would be confident enough to wear such revealing attire, let alone a man.
Finally, and most importantly, his appearance shows us his desire to be different. I'll spare you the spoilers if you haven't finished FFIX (those of you who have, proceed to the genome section to see what I'm talking about), but one of Kuja's major struggles is to be different, and his appearance is just one way that he achieves this. I guess in order to feel different, he had to start with looking different.
