Personality

Aside from being a narcissist, Kuja has many other distinguishable personality traits. He is rebellious, bitter, sarcastic, and power-hungry.

All of Kuja's personality traits stem from the fact that he is a genome with a soul -- he is alive merely to do as Garland wishes. Naturally, this brings out his rebellious side. He wants to defy his creator, and so he resorts to severely altering his appearance and going about things his own way. To make his rebellion worthwhile, he feigns obedience long enough to truly betray Garland.

Kuja is also extremely bitter and sarcastic as a result of the role he was dealt. He can't accept that he is anything like the soulless genomes wandering Terra, and this is what causes his bitterness. Sarcasm is often coupled with bitterness, and Kuja is no exception to this rule. Many of his comments are witty and caustic with that additional little sarcastic flair.

Finally, Kuja's personality is consumed by the desire to want power / wealth / good looks / anything. He craves anything and everything, and he goes to any length to get what he wants. He feels he deserves everything that he wants as well, but that's as a result of both his narcissism and his desire to rebel against Garland.
