Chi is energy that permeates the natural world. It is the very essence of life. There are eight categories of chi: Heaven/Celestial, Mountain, Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Ice, and Lightning.

Each of these elements are ruled by Carta. Ifyou think of Chi as a mighty river, then Carta serves as a dam, in a sense, controlling the flow of Chi.

When Chi and Carta are perfectly aligned, the result is Magna Carta. Because the Magna Carta controls the flow of both chi and carta, the full extend of its power is unknown, but would virtually be limitless. It is also unknown what becomes of the being that uses the Magna Carta.
