The Light of Salvation is an artifact that keeps the Tree of Light alive. It is composed of eight shards representing the eight chi: Fire, Water, Ice, Wind, Lightening, Earth, Heaven/Celestial, and Mountain. To turn the war in the favor of the humans, 8 heroes, composed of Humans and half-Yason, steal the Light of Salvation, and seal them away, hoping to kill of the Tree of Light. Most of the eight either died or went into exile. For eight years, there was an uneasy peace, as the weakened Yason were subdued for a while. Naturally, the Yason want the shards back.
