The Tree of Light is the tree which the Yason's vindi draw chi from. When the eight human'heros' steal and seal the Light of Salvation, which is the Tree of Light's source of chi. As a result the Tree must find an alternate chi source as not to die, so it begins to draw chi away from the Yason it once provided Chi too. Yason suffering from too much chi being withdrawn from their body suffer from rheuma and die. Some Yason have genetically altered, becoming Blast Worms who have a slight immunity from rheuma.

The Yason Queen Amila, attempts to find a way to cure her people of rheuma and free them from the contrainsts of vindi...
